Koss PortaPro Headphones

If looks could kill, I’d be deaf.

…think about it.

That is to say, these headphones are pretty sweet. My second vmoda in-earbuds died again on my last week so I scoured the internet for a replacement. My office job allows me to play an mp3 while I work, so quality and comfort is what I was after in a sub $50 range.

This particular set of headphones has a two tier padding setup: one on your ear and one on your temple. They’re so comfy that you forget that you’re wearing them. The temple pad also has firmness setting for additional comfort.

Adjustable slider on the band have been known to get tangled up with people’s hair.

Sound comes in like a thread through a needle. They’re not sound isolators so if you’re out in public you may turn the volume up a bit higher than you would have to with in-ear headphones and sound does leak out, but you wouldn’t notice until someone visually grabs your attention.

The real seller of Koss PortaPro is the design. These headphones stand out without having to be garish or gimmicky. Fashion is about the future, Retro is about the past, but style is timeless. These headphones look as good today as they did in the 80s when the the company was born and will continue to look good for another 25 years and beyond.
